Product Description
7A is a 93/7 economical dual curing powder coating specific end carboxyl polyester resin used for curing at 200 ºC. The use of 7A resin is suitable for outdoor decorative powder coatings, with good leveling, high gloss, and storage stability.
Polyester powder coating is a themosetting powder coating composed of polyester resin, curing agent, pigment, filler, and additives. In themosetting powder coatings, polyester powder coatings are one of the main varieties of weather resistant powder coatings. In order to distinguish it from polyester epoxy powder coatings, it is commonly referred to as pure polyester powder coatings.
Polyester powder coating is a new type of solvent-free 100% solid powder coating. It has the characteristics of solvent-free, pollution-free, recyclable, environmentally friendly, energy-saving and resource saving, reducing labor intensity, and high mechanical strength of coating.
Powder coatings are mainly used in functional coating industries such as building materials, furniture, and automobiles. The series of advantages of powder coatings make them have broad application prospects.

Advantages of TGIC and HAA dual curing polyester resin
Performance complementarity
1.Weather resistance and high temperature stability
The TGIC curing system exhibits excellent resistance to ultraviolet radiation, yellowing, and high temperatures (up to 250 ºC), making it suitable for long-term outdoor environments.
2.The HAA curing system compensates for the high temperature curing requirements of TGIC through low-temperature reaction (150 ºC), reducing energy consumption while maintaining weather resistance close to TGIC.
Balancing Environmental Protection and Safety
1.HAA is non-toxic, has no risk of genetic mutations, complies with the EU REACH regulation, and is suitable for environmentally sensitive fields; TGIC enhances its chemical corrosion resistance through high cross-linking density.
2.Double curing can reduce the amount of TGIC used, lower toxicity hazards, while retaining its heat resistance advantage.
Process adaptability optimization
1.TGIC cured coating thick coating without pinholes, suitable for complex structures; HAA improves leveling and flexibility, reducing orange peel phenomenon.
2.The mixed formula can support friction gun spraying, improving coating efficiency.
Comprehensive cost and efficiency
Low temperature curing and energy consumption control
HAA supports low-temperature curing at 60-80 ºC to shorten the production cycle; TGIC enhances coating performance within the range of 130-170 ºC, and the combination of the two reduces overall energy consumption.
Formula cost optimization
HAA has low raw material costs and is suitable for large-scale applications; The amount of TGIC added can be controlled, and the comprehensive cost can be reduced through mixed use.
Applications
Outdoor Furniture: The system is ideal for coating outdoor furniture, where a balance of flexibility, weather resistance, and impact durability is necessary to withstand varying environmental conditions.
Metal Fencing and Railings: Used in the coating of metal fencing and railings, where both corrosion resistance and a smooth, attractive finish are essential for longevity and visual appeal.

In which applications is polyester resin commonly used?
Polyester resin is used in:
- Marine and automotive industries for fiberglass-reinforced products
- Construction for composite materials and coatings
- Consumer goods for making synthetic marble and castings
- Coatings for appliances and architectural materials
What safety precautions should be taken when handling polyester resin?
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear gloves, masks, and protective clothing.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation in the workspace to avoid inhalation of fumes.
- Avoid Skin Contact: Polyester resin can cause skin irritation; wash thoroughly after handling.
How should polyester resin be stored?
Store polyester resin in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep containers tightly sealed to prevent contamination and evaporation of volatile components.
What are the environmental considerations of using polyester resin?
Polyester resin can emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during the curing process, which can impact air quality. Proper ventilation and handling procedures are essential to minimize environmental impact. Additionally, disposal of resin and related waste should follow local regulations to avoid environmental contamination.
Can polyester resin be used for outdoor applications?
Yes, polyester resin can be used for outdoor applications, particularly when combined with UV inhibitors and other additives to enhance weather resistance. However, prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause some degradation over time without these additives.
